Poems with a pattern.

We have just started our poetry unit in literacy. This week we have been looking at lots of different poems and sorting them into groups. We decided to sort our poems into four groups:

1. Poems which made a shape.

2. Poems that spelt out a word down the side.

3. Poems which only had 3 lines, with the middle line being the longest.

4. And poems that repeated lines or sounds.

Here are some of our favourite poems from this week. Using the groups above, what group do you think each poem should go in?

I will put in my marble a little smile from a baby and a shooting star from the sky. I will put in my marble a little perfume what smells like roses and a cloud bouncing by.
